As the flagship brand for the leading european dermo-cosmetic company, Avène USA was ready to enhance their online presence and make their skin care products available for purchase on their website. I was presented with the challenge to redesign their existing website to incorporate ecommerce while making the content available on any device with a new CMS-friendly, responsive layout.
At the heart of the brand is the Avène Thermal Spring Water, a key ingredient in all of their skin care products. The new design needed to be clean and modern while also reflecting the water's importance in the brand's history. Through the combination of typography, photography, and color, the new design mirrors the elegance and etherealness of the brand story while maintaining a simple and easy to use ecommerce interface.
Avène has a rich history in skin care beyond their product offerings. Two major changes to the site included 1.) enhancing the About Avène section, which details the brand's history rooted in dermotology and hydrotherapy and 2.) expanding the About Your Skin section, which provides skin care resources for customers of all skin types.
